Who thought it was a good idea to open up registrations BEFORE importing all the data from the old board?
The accounts of everyone who registered before the update are screwed up now, and all our old posts are now orphaned. You either should've kept registrations closed until the old data was imported, or you should've just completely overwritten everything on this board with the data from the old board.

If i'd had the old data to import before opening up registrations, I would have. As it was, we had no idea if we'd ever be able to get at the old database, or if the conversion would even work, so we're lucky to have back what we got.Not everyone's posts were orphaned who re-registered, and nothing about your account itself should be screwed up. The errors that did happen were most likely caused by the fact that the old forums ran vBulletin 3.7, the only converter out there is for 3.8, and we had no way of upgrading before converting, not because of duplicate accounts.
edit: If it really ruined your week or something I can probably go back and re-associate your old posts manually, but it will take some time.
edit2: Ok Rich, I've moved all your old posts to your new account. Anything else?
edit3: If anyone else wants their orphaned posts back let me know, turns out it takes no time at all. There should only be a few of you.
